removing easy-fix from this bug, we'll add the keyword to individual bugs so

Is any of this still relevant? I think maybe only the keyboard capplet stuff if anything.

Maybe someone could make a short bullet point list of the improvements that make sense?

Since this is an umbrella bug and all but one of the referenced bugs seem to be fixed, I'll close this one. Please open individual bugs if anything else is missing.
