Description Damon Brodie 2001-11-12 22:50:47 UTC
I just installed 0.99.1-snap.ximian.200111120857 on my RH 7.2 box.

Evo fails to load "evolution: relocation error:
/usr/lib/libevolution-importer.so.0: undefined symbol: stat"
Comment 1 mwehner 2001-11-12 23:23:18 UTC
Same error here with 200111120857 on RH7.1
Comment 2 Jason Jordan 2001-11-13 01:24:58 UTC
Same thing here also, RH 7.1:

evolution: relocation error: /usr/lib/libevolution-importer.so.0:
undefined symbol: stat

Comment 3 Robert Walsh 2001-11-13 01:36:27 UTC
Me too. RedHat 7.1. This is a showstopper for me.
Comment 4 Matt 2001-11-13 02:11:20 UTC
I hate this bug, it's killing me from getting the latest
snapshots...I've tried three different ones now, I keep having to
uninstall it and going back to 0.16...*sigh*

I use RH 7.2. stat failed to load, also something with
OAFIID:Gnome_Evolution_Mail_ShellComponent.

Hope this helps, but I"m sure you guys already know people have
problems with this...

You can obtain evolution 0.99 the last stable version from rpmfind.net (search for evolution and select the correct OS)

Anyone know where to get the 11/11/01 snapshot? This is the last one
that worked for me...
Comment 12 Paul Jenner 2001-11-13 09:26:06 UTC
I can confirm the same thing with Evolution 0.99.1 snap 200111120857
running on a fully patched Red Hat 7.0 (with Ximian GNOME 1.4):

[paulj@localhost paulj]$ evolution
evolution: relocation error: /usr/lib/libevolution-importer.so.0:
undefined symbol: stat
Comment 13 Alex Ramos 2001-11-13 12:45:40 UTC
I have this one as well.

Just a technicality but marking 1.0. Ettore has a fix he just forgot

Comment 33 Troy Miller 2001-11-13 19:17:20 UTC
Adding a ditto, and a comment.

I tried going back to .99 from red-carpet, but evolution couldn't
recognize a protocol in the mailbox folders - thus I couldn't see any
mail. If it's not too much work, it might be fuzzy-nice to keep a few
days worth of previous snapshot rpms around, or perhaps just the one
before, for instances like this.

This has been fixed in CVS, but beware... other bugs lurk within :)
