Description André Klapper 2009-07-19 23:42:39 UTC
gnome-vfs will be removed for GNOME3 which is in a few months.

See http://live.gnome.org/GioPort for more information.

A quick grep comes up with:

./libgcmd/libgcmd-deps.h:#include <libgnomevfs/gnome-vfs.h>
./libgcmd/libgcmd-deps.h:#include <libgnomevfs/gnome-vfs-mime-handlers.h>
./src/intviewer/viewer-widget.cc:#include <libgnomevfs/gnome-vfs.h>
./src/gnome-cmd-data.cc:#include <libgnomevfs/gnome-vfs.h>
./src/gnome-cmd-data.cc:#include <libgnomevfs/gnome-vfs-volume-monitor.h>
./src/gnome-cmd-data.cc:#include <libgnomevfs/gnome-vfs-volume.h>
./src/gnome-cmd-file-props-dialog.cc:#include <libgnomevfs/gnome-vfs-mime-monitor.h>
./src/gnome-cmd-con-device.cc:#include <libgnomevfs/gnome-vfs.h>
./src/gnome-cmd-con-device.cc:#include <libgnomevfs/gnome-vfs-volume.h>
./src/gnome-cmd-smb-auth.cc:#include <libgnomevfs/gnome-vfs-module-callback.h>

...plus configure.in.

This said "a few months" six years ago! When is this going to actually be addressed?
Comment 2 Uwe Scholz 2015-10-03 15:26:52 UTC
Hi Bill! Be kindly advised not to use Bugzilla as a plattform for such questions. Here, only technical related issues should be discussed - the contact details for gcmd can be found on its homepage.

Nevertheless, this bug will be adressed in the not so far future, but also not in the next release. Stay tuned.

When someone provides patches. Bill: Would you fancy helping? See https://wiki.gnome.org/Git/Developers for more information.
