Evolution Mail and Calendar: Cannot get images to loa...
Last modified: 2010-05-16 11:05:30 UTC
Cannot get images to load for *some* emails. Most work, but it seems to be blocking some image servers for whatever reason. Distribution: Ubuntu 8.04 (hardy) Gnome Release: 2.22.3 2008-07-09 (Ubuntu) BugBuddy Version: 2.22.0
Please attach an example email and remove any confidential data before.
Created attachment 120971 [details] Example of email that will not load images. This email is sent to me weekly, and the images will not load even when manually commanded to do so.

Thanks for a bug report and data. I also cannot see all the pictures in the mail, but it's because thy are not available, because if I save the email body (all between <HTML> and </HTML> as a file (say a.html) and open it in a web browser, then even it has issues to show pictures there. Most usually because the pictures expired, or even beter with a broken (expired?) domain name: > Server not found > Firefox can't find the server at f5c.yahoofs.com. Could you try with some latest evolution, the best with upcoming 2.30.0+, and also check that the images Evolution doesn't show are available from a web browser, please? Thanks in advance. For your information, there was a bug about image cache and not showing all images, but this was fixed at 2.30.0 for sure, but maybe in 2.28.0-2.28.3 (I'm not sure when exactly the fixes landed sources).

As mentioned in bug #562233, it could also depend on proxy settings. There was an issue with proxies and images, namely bug #511283, so with respect of proxies, at least 2.28.0 is required for proper proxy requests, and have proxy properly set in Edit->Preferences->Network Preferences.
