Evolution ackage ver 2.24.3-0ubuntu1

No remote images will show in any message

Occasionally attempting to load images causes percentages to flash in the status bar as if something is downloading.  Other times nothing.  No images load.

Ctrl+I does not produce any results
View>Load Images produces no result
Changing preferences about image loading (never/contacts/all) produces no result
Changing proxy setting to 'direct' produces no result (no proxy in use)
/etc/services has the http and https lines
