Subject in inbox does not match subject in e-mail.

BugBuddy Version: 2.22.0
Comment 1 sm5kri 2008-05-14 22:51:44 UTC
In the inbox there is a list of different mails, each with a sender and a subject etc but opening a mail i found that i am IRL reading the next mail...

from nelly@hotmail.com subject: hosts for the party tomorrow
opening that mail I got a different :

from z@z.com subject: Daily Digest no 223
which is actually the next mail in the inbox.

So far I found this only happening if the previous mail is coming from hotmail.com.

regards / Chris

Probably your mbox is corruped. Delete the summary and recreate or edit the mbox and remove the corrupted data.
Comment 3 André Klapper 2008-06-07 14:26:13 UTC
@srini: like in
"edit the mbox and easily, trivially find the corrupted data because you know the mbox definition by heart and all of our GNOME users have studied CS"?

Im working on to write a repair folder/mbox plugin that will regenerate summaries on the fly.
Comment 9 Srinivasa Ragavan 2008-06-11 17:40:09 UTC
Looks like Im in need of one such mbox folder that behaves like it. Any one can share it with me? [you can email it personally to me if you are fine]. I

Do you still need one. I have a few that you can use. I have removed them and the list has been generated again, but it is still very much out of sync.

tr-huso: Not required. I made one manually :) and I got the issue found through code also.

Comment 20 Srinivasa Ragavan 2008-06-30 05:23:31 UTC
This whole issue came due to the patch for bug #213072. Im closing this as a dupe of 213072. I have made a patch to fix 213072 and sort of my theory proved right, I was able to consistently reproduce #213072. So I'll revert this patch (for trunk) and leave it as such for stable (no harm if it is there, it will cause string break).
