Description Poornima 2005-07-21 06:48:38 UTC
create a contact in personal, enter 'birthday' & anniversary dates for that contact.
Goto Calendar view' and observe birthday and anniversary appointments are
visible for that contacts in corresponding dates.
Now modify b'day of that contact to some other day, anniversary appointment
disappears.
Restart evolution anniversary you can see the anniversary appointment

Same problem for me, but restarting the app doesn't always fix this. Sometimes the birthday is missing also. Doesn't seem to matter what you change on the contact. I tried just changing the spouse from Lastname, First to First Lastname. Upgraded to 2.4.1 last night, and still having this issue after that.
Comment 2 xordaii 2005-12-29 19:47:45 UTC
did a little more searching on similar things. Check out Bug 225816. It was marked obsolete since we can no longer edit appointments. I am betting they are somehow related. This problem seems to stem from the recurrence being changed or incorrectly recorded by evolution when editting an existing contact. If you go back to the year (say the date of the anniversary was 12/29/1976) and check the original date, the entry is there in the calendar. But any recurring events of that (12/29/1998, 2000, etc.) may or may not be there. Not sure what else you need to check this bug or reproduce it.

As a note, this was reported as a similar bug in 2001 as happening then too. It was in a mailing list. Can't find any reference to it anywhere else though. Have been using evolution for years as my email client, but only this week have been using the calendar feature, so can't say how long I didn't notice this.

i cannot reproduce this in 2.5.90, however i have seen a bug in the calendar: i had two contacts with birthdays on 15th and 16th of february. the second one was not displayed, but it became displayes when i removed the birthday information from the first contact. when i re-added the birthday to the first contact again, the second one's birthday was not disaplyed anymore.
tried this a few times, now it works and both are displayed. :-/

Note: See bug 352472 for some *detailed* testing and observations, which entry disappears under what circumstances...

Hi Karsten,

I've un-checked and checked the "Birthdays & Anniversaries" checkbox several times as you suggest in bug 352445 and the anniversaries still do not appear. Stopping and restarting Evolution doesn't seem help either. I'll use this bug number for further discussion. Is there any other informaiton I can provide that would help debug the problem?

Tested with Evolution 2.11.91 and it is working fine.

Comment 12 Milan Crha 2008-03-11 16:55:40 UTC
Akhil, can you try this with 2.22 and probably close it? I believe it's fixed, it just left opened by an accident. Thanks in advance.
Comment 13 Akhil Laddha 2008-03-12 09:51:59 UTC
We are not committing to 2.18 branch please upgrade to latest gnome.
