Description Allan Day 2017-11-29 16:00:03 UTC
This is a tracker bug for some ongoing work which aims to improve the experience when increasing the volume over 100%.

My understanding is that this feature is primarily used by those who are playing audio on sound devices that don't go very loud, either because of inherent hardware limitations, or because of driver issues.

The sound settings have supported going over 100% for a long time, but this support hasn't been matched by other UI or components.

Apologies if I'm filing this bug in the wrong place; I wasn't sure where the best place was to report it.

GNOME is going to shut down bugzilla.gnome.org in favor of gitlab.gnome.org.
As part of that, we are mass-closing older open tickets in bugzilla.gnome.org
which have not seen updates for a longer time (resources are unfortunately
quite limited so not every ticket can get handled).

If you can still reproduce the situation described in this ticket in a recent
and supported software version, then please follow
  https://wiki.gnome.org/GettingInTouch/BugReportingGuidelines
and create a new bug report at
  https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-control-center/-/issues/

Thank you for your understanding and your help.
