Description Al Thomas 2016-12-12 20:26:59 UTC
This is a tracker bug for bindings that need to be removed from the Vala repository because they are now distributed with the upstream library.
Comment 1 Al Thomas 2016-12-12 21:53:46 UTC
The policy within Vala is to keep bindings that are now carried upstream for an overlap period. Once the overlap period has been exceeded the binding is then removed from the Vala repository.

At present the overlap period starts from when the current minimum GLib version for Vala was released. For example Vala 0.34 requires GLib 2.32+. GLib 2.32 was released 24 March 2012 ( https://git.gnome.org/browse/glib/tag/?h=2.32.0 ). So libraries that started carrying their own Vala bindings before that date should not have bindings in the Vala repository.
Comment 2 Al Thomas 2017-12-11 10:25:41 UTC
Vala 0.40 will require GLib 2.40+. GLib 2.40.0 was released 24 March 2014.
