Description cpohle 2013-11-21 22:13:43 UTC
Both the "View / Sort..." and the "View / Filter..." dialogues in the journal view provide options to save the settings.

However, after restarting GnuCash, filter and sort settings are switched back to their original/default values.

Hmm, perhaps I was to quick to call this a duplicate...

With "journal" view, what do you refer to exactly: the General Ledger, or just an account register ?

The first one is opened from the Tools menu, the second one is opened by double-clicking on an account in the Account Hierarchy.
Comment 3 cpohle 2013-11-22 23:22:52 UTC
This bug report refers to the General Ledger. Sorry if it was not precise, I only know the German UI.
Comment 4 Geert Janssens 2013-11-23 08:31:00 UTC
Thank you for your feedback. A quick glance at the code suggests the General Ledger case wasn't taken into consideration when saving the filters was added (at least not in the old style register).

This is a separate bug from what I first thought.
Comment 5 Geert Janssens 2013-11-29 19:20:55 UTC
This is not mac only by the way. It's simply not implemented for the General Ledger.

I just hit this bug on version 2.6.6. It would be great to have it fixed.

I am importing old data and was confused that it didn't appear in the General Ledger at first (but that's a different issue).

After changing the filter I can see everything I expect, but the filter reverts to the last month whenever I reopen the General Ledger or GnuCash.
