GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 690766
ScreenShield: honor lock-delay GSettings key
Last modified: 2013-01-30 18:12:08 UTC
org.gnome.desktop.screensaver.lock-delay contains the grace period of the screensaver: if deactivation within that many seconds from the start of the idle period, the shell should not prompt for a password. This setting correspond to the "Lock screen after" combo in screen and privacy panels.

Any chance this can be backported to 3.6? This is highly annoying, and can be a security risk if it prompts people to completely disable locking the screen.
Backported to gnome-3-6. I'm not sure there will be another stable release, though, so this needs to be picked by individual distributions.
Thanks!

Gnome-shell 3.6.2 with current patch applied remains broken after returning from blank screen regime without lock. To reproduce: 1) Set 1 minute for turning off the screen 2) Set Lock - ON 3) Set 1 hour for screen locking 4) Wait a couple of minutes until the screen to become black 5) Drag the mouse / keyboard Now your emapthy status is Idle, Alt-F2 is not working, notifications are disabled etc. To return the normal state you need to Lock the screen and then enter the password. Please reopen.
