Description Romain Riviere 2013-01-25 16:06:17 UTC
In System Settings -> Personal -> Brightness & Lock, the "Lock screen after" parameter has no effect whatsoever.

The two different behaviours displayed are:
- if "Lock" is unset, the screen turns off after the correct amount of time specified in "Turn off screne when inactive for" and does not lock;
- if "Lock" is set, the screen will lock immediately after the it has turned off, regardless of the "Lock screen after" setting.

For what it's worth, the "Dim screen to save power" does not change this behaviour.

The problem appeared when I upgraded from Gnome 3.4 to 3.6 and is consistent on two different x86_64 machines running the same versions.

This was implemented in 3.7.3 or .4
Comment 2 Milan Bouchet-Valat 2013-01-26 19:44:55 UTC
...and is fixed in the 3.6 git branch, but not in any 3.6 release.
