Description Andrew D. 2012-10-03 22:09:37 UTC
In order to change the properties of the text in a box, I need to highlight the text, then use the options in the window above the text box.

However, when I follow the same "highlight-then-change" process when changing the text itself, it completely ignores the properties I used previously. This behavior doesn't seem consistent.

Note that this doesn't occur when I only highlight _some_ of the letters. I have to highlight all of the text; GIMP must just assume I'm starting from scratch.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create a new image.
2. Create a text box, fill it with text.
3. Highlight all the text in the box by pressing HOME, followed by SHIFT-END.
4. Use the hovering text box to set the color to green and the font size to 30 points.
5. Go do something else, like fill the background layer with unicorns.
6. Decide you don't like the text you put in that box and go back to edit it.
7. Highlight all the text in the box by pressing HOME, followed by SHIFT-END.
8. Begin typing your new text.

Expected Results:
* Since I already set this text box to use 30 point font, green text, I'd expect that any text I put in this box will also be in a green, 30 point font.

Actual Results:
* The properties set in the toolbar override any of the properties previously set in the box. The text that appears is the default (18 point black, Sans).
