GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 682764
Solid semi-transparent color overlay for selected text makes it hard to adjust text color
Last modified: 2018-05-24 13:17:26 UTC
The new text input widget has some problems: 1) It's a bad idea to have the selected color semi-transparent if the color isn't. For example white will always look grayish 2) It's too complicated to change the attributes of the text you just entered: First you'll have to select the text, then you'll have to change attributes 3) When you change the attribute when not having any text selected, the next text you enter will reset the attributes you just entered. That's counter-intuitive.
Item 3 is a bug and covered by bug #683011.
Item 2 is effectively bug 631934.
So I guess we should make this about the first issue and change the summary accordingly.
