GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 664916
Fix OSD colours for dark theme
Last modified: 2012-04-20 09:08:15 UTC
Created attachment 202236 [details] 1440x900 screenshot cropped to 320x320 in the top left corner When in full screen, pressing space to pause or play a file (whatever the file), a grey square appears for a few seconds on the top left this is recent; I think it began to appear at the same time the totem interface became black by default. using totem 3.2.1, archlinux 32bits, nvidia 285.05.09, and gnome-video-effects 0.3.0-1 gstreamer0.10 0.10.35-1 gstreamer0.10-bad 0.10.22-2 gstreamer0.10-bad-plugins 0.10.22-2 gstreamer0.10-base 0.10.35-1 gstreamer0.10-base-plugins 0.10.35-1 gstreamer0.10-ffmpeg 0.10.12-1 gstreamer0.10-good 0.10.30-1 gstreamer0.10-good-plugins 0.10.30-1 gstreamer0.10-pitfdll 0.9.1.1-2 gstreamer0.10-python 0.10.21-1 gstreamer0.10-ugly 0.10.18-4 gstreamer0.10-ugly-plugins 0.10.18-4 gstreamermm 0.10.6-1 using gnome 3.2in fallback mode this does not happen with any other video player. like smplayer for example
What window manager are you using? Is it composited? That grey square is the OSD icon which appears when you play or pause the video; it should be a ‘play’ icon or a ‘pause’ icon.
the window manager that comes with gnome fallback. which is mmh... metacity, right ?
Needed info has been given. Any news on that ?
thsi also happends with nouveau driver so to me this is a bug of the window manager or whatever but a driver bug.
It's not "a grey square" it's the OSD, which unfortunately got its colours broken when we switched to a dark theme.
Cosimo was looking at that.

Created attachment 212388 [details] [review] backend: sync OSD window with g-s-d Backports the changes from bug 674437 to the totem copy of that code.
