GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 652728
Unfocused window's title bars have a color different from window background
Last modified: 2011-10-24 21:39:19 UTC
For active windows, title bar an window background aren't distinguishable when using Adwaita. OTC, the difference is really visible for inactive windows. This is kind of sad, because the bar used for active windows makes them look really more integrated - but the unfocused bar breaks the illusion. ;-) Screenshot: http://bugzilla-attachments.gnome.org/attachment.cgi?id=181878 As GTK doesn't support changing the background for unfocused windows, I think the title bar shouldn't change color. Changing the text color and shade, plus hiding the close button's border as is currently done should be enough. Jimmac posted a screenshot on bug 643217 that would fix the issue, but it relies on the GTK change I said. For now, a short-term fix would be nice. http://gitorious.org/gnome-design/gnome-design/blobs/master/mockups/theming/unfocused-window.png
There's no "short term fix" for this unfortunately; we want to support the unfocused window styling discussed in bug 643217 and bug 646524. Good news is toolkit support is coming up: see https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=661428 Closing this as a duplicate of bug 646524, which will track the theme work for this. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 646524 ***
