Please describe the problem:
I was able to use this facility but since upgrading to Ubuntu 8.10 it has stopped functioning

Steps to reproduce:
1. Deleting a spam message
2. Clicking file/empty deleted messages
3. 


Actual results:
Nothing

Expected results:
Deleted messages are removed from inbox

Does this happen every time?
Now, yes
