Description david 2001-09-10 01:18:42 UTC
When I open a file with either the default "open" or with an "open with" the
current working directory is my home directory.

EXAMPLE #1
I have ps2pdf set up as an "open with" option for the postscript mime type and
all teh resulting output pdf's end up in my home directory instead of the .ps
file's directory.

EXAMPLE #2
I navigate through my docs directory into the subdirectory some three deep, and
fire up applix via double clicking on a .aw file in the directory. If I were to
do a "Save As...", I have to navigate again through the directory structure
inside Applix's file dialog.

------- Additional Comments From snickell@stanford.edu 2001-07-23 00:38:17 ----

Taking bugs previously assigned to Pavel, assigning them to myself. Will parse
them out at my leisure , but many are GnomeVFS bugs we should look at for 2.0

Changing to "old" target milestone for all bugs laying around with no milestone set.
Comment 2 John Fleck 2002-04-03 14:39:31 UTC
This problem still lingers in GNOME2 Nautilus.
Comment 3 Luis Villa 2002-04-15 21:07:43 UTC
Really minor, though, no? Even borderline feature?

bug 66233 adds that if you simply click on an icon to launch it, the
directory should also be changed...
