GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 42185
desktop draws white at startup
Last modified: 2004-12-22 21:47:04 UTC
It's not good to flash white before drawing the real background color. We need to figure out why this happens and fix it. ------- Additional Comments From eli@eazel.com 2000-10-16 19:38:49 ---- Batch-assigning QA ownership of remaining bugs to eli@eazel.com ------- Additional Comments From don@eazel.com 2001-01-02 11:17:06 ---- Not required for 1.0. This only happens once as far as most users are concerned. ------- Additional Comments From engber@eazel.com 2001-01-02 11:49:09 ---- At the time this problem occurs we don't have our background loaded, making it harder to draw the right thing (i'm not sure to not draw at all). A way to fix this might be to take advantage of the background pixmap stored in the root x window. ------- Additional Comments From engber@eazel.com 2001-01-02 11:49:10 ---- *** Bug 41060 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** ------- Additional Comments From don@eazel.com 2001-01-02 12:07:05 ---- Hmmmm, interesting. Is there a big performance or memory hit for using the background pixmap in the root window? If not, this sounds like a good solution. ------- Additional Comments From sullivan@eazel.com 2001-02-05 21:44:42 ---- *** Bug 46353 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** ------- Additional Comments From eli@eazel.com 2001-02-09 11:28:54 ---- Duane is now the proud owner for Desktop QA. ------- Additional Comments From eli@eazel.com 2001-03-26 11:20:32 ---- SPAAAAAAAAAM! (Jon Allen has taken these components; QA Assigning bugs to him.) ------- Bug moved to this database by unknown@bugzilla.gnome.org 2001-09-09 20:36 ------- The original owner (engber@eazel.com) of this bug does not have an account here. Reassigning to the default owner of the component, nautilus-maint@bugzilla.gnome.org.
