Last modified: 2004-12-22 21:47:04 UTC
Package: nautilus Severity: critical Version: 1.0.2-ximian.3 Synopsis: Nautilus desktop blinks on startup. Bugzilla-Product: nautilus Bugzilla-Component: Desktop Description: When starting Gnome, or running nautilus from the CL, the Nautilus desktop comes up dark slate grey rather than my chosen BG. The Desktop blinks back between the Nautilus desktop, and one with my BG but no nautilus; at an interval of c. 2s. Any app that requires nautilus will also precipitate this. Error message = nautilus: relocation error: /usr/lib/libnautilus-private.so.0: undefined symbol: eel_background_get_sample_size. Reproductible by starting nautilus or any app that requires it running. ------- Bug moved to this database by unknown@bugzilla.gnome.org 2002-01-25 13:07 ------- Unknown version 1.0.x in product nautilus. Setting version to the default, "unspecified". The original reporter (dle1@sympatico.ca) of this bug does not have an account here. Reassigning to the exporter, unknown@bugzilla.gnome.org. Reassigning to the default owner of the component, nautilus-maint@bugzilla.gnome.org.
These are two different bugs. The flash is a duplicate of bug 41060. The second problem with the error message has nothing to do with the bug summary. It is a problem with using Nautilus with a too-old version of eel, and indicates a packaging problem with Ximian's Nautilus package, which should indicate the minimum version of eel that's required. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 41060 ***
