Description dan.hensley 2002-08-23 17:57:01 UTC
Currently when composing (or replying, etc.) an e-mail, when you type in an
e-mail address that is in the address book, Evo only displays the name of
the person in the To:, CC:, etc. fields. It would be really nice to have
an easy way to see what e-mail address is being used for that name.

I would prefer being able to see the e-mail address after the name for each
entry in the To: field (kind of like what Mozilla does), but a reasonable
compromise would be to display a tooltip containing the e-mail address
whenever the mouse is over a person's name.
Comment 1 Jeffrey Stedfast 2002-08-23 18:23:25 UTC
I would prefer a config option to simply show the email address as
well as the name.

shouldn't be that hard I don't think, EDestination already holds that
info in its state iirc.
Comment 2 Gerardo Marin 2004-02-27 08:37:18 UTC
Right clicking on the name shows both name and address in 1.4.5
Not sure this is enough but works for me.
Comment 3 dan.hensley 2004-03-04 05:34:19 UTC
No this is really not enough for me. I want to see the e-mail address
in the TO: field. Imagine having several up there. I don't want to
have to right-click on every single one. A lot of people I know have
more than one e-mail address, and it would be really nice to be able
to quickly tell which one the e-mail is going to.

I'm not changing the state of the bug because it took 1 1/2 years to
get this far, so I'm not optimistic that the functionality will ever
change. But I wanted to put my opinion in again in the hopes that
maybe this functionality will be added.

Reassigning to UI team to see if there's a decent setting for this.

in order to destroy the UI component (as discussed with jpr, dobey, and nags),
changing component to the component of the assignee.
adding UI keyword.
Comment 9 Sushma Rai 2005-08-29 08:11:57 UTC
we need to show "name <emailid>" instead of just the name
in the autocompleted list.
