GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 158366
Thumbnail creation steals focus from rename text entry
Last modified: 2005-02-02 00:34:11 UTC
Note: I have observed this using List view. 1. Copy a bunch of media files to a folder [nautilus will start creating new thumbnails] 2. Create a new folder inside the folder from (1) 3. Press F2 to rename the unnamed folder Expected results: I can type the new name and the folder is renamed Actual results: I can type a few characters, then when a new thumbnail is created, focus is stolen from the text entry and the new folder doesn't have the desired name.

Another description Reproduce by: in a folder where files are changed by another application (e.g. a download), try to rename a file. Nautilus refreshes and exists rename mode while you type. Proposed fix: disable refresh for that window (gamin?) while renaming a file/folder. I'm not using spatial mode. Bug 159394 looks like a duplicate of this
