Please, do something with this Pango exit() on symbol fonts and such.
It is rather essential, especcialy for newbies. Since 2.0 is
approaching, this thing should be handled at least as a workaround for
the time there is no stable Pango with this issue resolved.

If there was a doable workaround, I had long added one. But
fortunately the wait is now over and there's a stable Pango release
(1.4) that has these problems fixed.

This tracking bug hasn't been used in ages, getting rid of it now.
