Description Mark Howard 2007-10-10 08:59:10 UTC
Lots of keypresses are currently intercepted by gnome, when I'd like them to go to the vnc application.

In particular, ctrl-w closes the vnc tabs rather than the tabs in the application on the vnc machine. ctrl-d tries to add a bookmark rather than deleting a line in my editor on the remote machine. This can get a little annoying...

Ideally, I would like a clear separation of focus control -- if you're in the window everything goes to the vnc client except a single key combination that is used to change focus away from the vnc window. Focus follows mouse is usually described as a bad idea though, so this might not be the best approach.
As a compromise, I would suggest that this should be the behaviour when in full screen mode (where all you can see is the remote display). I'm no usability expert though, so please do experiment or discuss with people who are likely to have a better view of the best solution.

Ok, i've just commited the fix.

I want to add (in a near future) a 'send XYZ key' feature. Mainly for F11 key, but it's another bug ;)

Just curious - this has been fixed in Octobre 2007? But why is it, that this isn't fixed in 0.5.x as of 2008-08-11?

Anyway - could you please inform how to backport that patch? Where's the fix exactly located?

Thanks a lot!
