Critical Warning Crash. From the descriptions: * startup * trying to read an e-mail * Clicking the buttons for some JPEG photos attached to a mail. Can you guys confirm, that the email that is supposed to be displayed contains attached images?
Regarding your repeated crashes, here are some hints how to recover, taken from an archived post [1] of mine: > [...] the first step is to disable the global > (pre)view option. With the (pre)view pane disabled, Evo will not render > (display) the currently selected mail when started, thus avoiding > displaying the mail that crashes Evo. > > $ gconftool-2 --set /apps/evolution/mail/display/show_preview --type bool 0 If starting Evo after running that command still crashes, there are a lot more details and info in the post how to go on. (If this happens to be a non-local account like IMAP, using another client temporarily just to get rid of the mail would do also.) FWIW, you most likely got the pre-view pane enabled, which will show the last selected mail upon starting Evo. Unfortunately the mail that is being displayed causes the crash. Probably the same crash as bug 333864 and its duplicates?

Confirming, for obvious reasons.
Btw, missed a target milestone, eh? ;) Note that according to descriptions, a fairly large amount of the current flood of useless stacktraces without responses most likely actually are duplicates.
Hmm... *poke* Please note that there are different kinds of traces here. Some are like the initial report, with g_object_unref() and g_return_if_fail_warning() calls. Some are without that, stopping right after efhd_image_resized(). Also, what about comment 7?
The patch attached at bug #333864 should fix also. It is a combined patch.
Fixed to head and stable.
