Package: Evolution
Priority: Minor
Version: 1.4.0
Synopsis: Editing contact from sending new mail doesn't function
Bugzilla-Product: Evolution
Bugzilla-Component: Contacts [was: Addressbook]

Description:
Description of Problem:
If you attempt to edit a contact by doubleclicking on the name in the
new message window, the contact pops up but you cannot actually add or
edit the phone numbers or contacts.

If you edit the contact directly this problem doesn't occur

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. Start composing a new email message
2. Select a contact to send the message to
3. Double click the contact to bring up the edit contact window
4. Attempt to add a phone number.

Actual Results:
I cannot enter any text.

Expected Results:
I should be able to edit the contact

How often does this happen?
Every time.

Additional Information:

Setting qa contact to the default for this product.
This bug either had no qa contact or an invalid one.

I think this is a duplicate of an old report.
Comment 2 André Klapper 2005-01-31 12:12:27 UTC
entirely broken in 2.1.3.2, instead of bringing up the contact info,
the text (=name of the recipient) is selected.

combined with bug 271400 (the one about not showing the recipient's
email address) i have **no possibility at all** to see to whom i
actually send this (if i have to persons with the same name in my
contacts).

definitely a regression, setting target to 2.1 (sorry, i know you have
much work to do).

double-clicking highlights the word; right-clicking and choosing the
first entry brings up a writable and not read-only contact editor.

so this one is solved in evolution-2.1.4.0.200502040900-0.snap.ximian.
10.1; however it is still *very* buggy, see bug 216073 about this.

also removing my wrong dependency (bug 260851 is about the UI that does
not show that this would open a contact editor).
