Last modified: 2010-12-12 20:43:44 UTC
This is a tracking bug for the text tool. Several of the bugs listed in the dependencies must be fixed before 2.0.
Summary of the dependencies: - bug #120021 crash when undoing editing of a blured text layer - bug #130985 text tool broken with respect to Undo - bug #136623 text layer paint problems - bug #136645 crash when dragging a texture to fill a text layer - bug #85103 warn user if extremely large fonts are requested - bug #110936 editing text resets rotated text - bug #120268 support letter spacing in the text tool - bug #102822 support outlined text - bug #120973 usage of modifier keys (Shift, Ctrl, Alt) - bug #122706 allow multiple styles in a text layer - bug #124970 layer text activation - bug #132509 allow to choose language in text tool editor
More dependencies: - bug #125144 transform should work on text layers - bug #122707 confine text to an area smaller than image boundaries
bug #137766 Text undo improvements (compress steps, memory footprint) bug #137767 Undoing a modification to a text layer doesn't reset modified flag
bug #137890 Text tool halted when using Redo
Please, do something with this Pango exit() on symbol fonts and such. It is rather essential, especcialy for newbies. Since 2.0 is approaching, this thing should be handled at least as a workaround for the time there is no stable Pango with this issue resolved.
If there was a doable workaround, I had long added one. But fortunately the wait is now over and there's a stable Pango release (1.4) that has these problems fixed.
bug #164539 - new PDB API needed for text tool
bug #170152 -- allow markup (underlining etc) in text
This tracking bug hasn't been used in ages, getting rid of it now.
