Description Chris Ridpath 2002-10-11 16:14:29 UTC
The gnome screensaver appears over gok, so if there is a screensaver
password(almost always the case in
gnome) someone restricted to gok can be locked
out of their system.

This should be noted in the user docs - do not set screen saver password.
Comment 1 Chris Ridpath 2002-10-21 14:35:12 UTC
Documentation has been updated to include a note to user that they
should disable screensaver password protection when using GOK.
Comment 2 bill.haneman 2003-02-14 17:28:07 UTC
I actually don't think this is a satisfactory solution for
'enterprise' deployment of GOK. GOK should be allowed to post on top
of the screensaver.

Comment 3 bill.haneman 2003-02-14 17:47:20 UTC
bumping severity up; however this isn't really entirely a GOK bug,
fixing it will require engineering elsewhere I expect.
Comment 4 David Bolter 2003-02-27 20:30:59 UTC
Bill, has a relevant RFE or Bug been reported to the appropriate
project regarding this?
Comment 5 bill.haneman 2003-02-28 10:39:25 UTC
no; probably a bug against xscreensaver needs to be filed. There's a
small possibility that Metacity could be involved too, but I don't
think so.

Comment 6 David Bolter 2003-03-10 15:29:01 UTC
Adding a dependancy on a filed xscreensaver bug.
