Fortunately, I was able to find a cached copy of the page thanks to
Google (search for "gimp windows screenshots Scott Myers").  I also
found a Japanese page that contains a translation of the original
page, but more importantly contains a copy of all images and
thumbnails that used to be in Tor's page:

I wasn't so lucky with the images that used to be in Xach's directory.
I hope that Xach had a backup somewhere.  Otherwise, maybe we could
create new screenshots?  Maybe we could also show some features from
the 1.3.x branch?

Xach has fixed the broken links in his pages.  Since all the remaining
broken links are in Tor's pages, I am now marking this bug as a
duplicate of bug #86237, which mentions several other broken links in
Tor's pages.
