Description Michael 2018-01-31 17:50:57 UTC
In Remote Desktop Viewer (3.22.0), password length is limited to 20 characters, which is a more strict limit than Windows.

The GUI "beeps" after 20 characters, and the login attempt fails when connecting to a Windows account that has a password > 20 characters.

Not sure what proper procedure is for bumping a bug, please pardon me if it's incorrect to do in this db. Hit this one as well, I've got a win server with a 24 character password, can't login. Appears to be the same build, 3.22.0.

Please save me from having to move my work laptop back to windows Gnome devs :)

Comment 3 André Klapper 2021-05-26 09:25:57 UTC
GNOME is going to shut down bugzilla.gnome.org in favor of gitlab.gnome.org.
As part of that, we are mass-closing older open tickets in bugzilla.gnome.org
which have not seen updates for a longer time (resources are unfortunately
quite limited so not every ticket can get handled).

If you can still reproduce the situation described in this ticket in a recent
and supported software version of Vinagre, then please follow
  https://wiki.gnome.org/GettingInTouch/BugReportingGuidelines
and create a new enhancement request ticket at
  https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/vinagre/-/issues/

Thank you for your understanding and your help.
