GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 78760
menus stay if dialog appears during menu selection
Last modified: 2011-02-14 13:06:50 UTC
If some menu in Galeon (bookmark menu or whatever) is open when a Save file dialog in Galeon appears, the following happens: 1. The menu can't be closed and stays on top of every other window (including the save file dialog). 2. The save file dialog or any other window (even non-Galeon) can't be moved. However, widgets in the save file can be focussed/modified etc. The menu may cover the save file dialog, which means that you'll have to navigate blindly by keyboard in order to close the save dialog. I don't know if this happens with my window manager only (IceWM 1.0.9.2-7), but I doubt it. It may be a bug in GTK as well...
I think this is a GTK bug. We can possibly work around it in Galeon 2 by trying very hard to not have any modal dialogs. Reassigning to me so I remember to give this some more thought. :)
