I have found that on my Arch Linux installation with GNOME 3.24.2 that turning on the "Show location of pointer" does nothing. For when I press CTRL there is no such animation to indicate the location of my pointer on screen. I am running Wayland, but I have got a friend to test it out on Fedora 26 installation with GNOME 3.24 and Xorg and they also experience the issue. Seemingly nothing special is outputted in Terminal when changing the setting, nor does journalctl seem to show anything at all related to it.

On my Arch this feature works on X11, but it does not work on Wayland.

cooks.go.hungry, this looks like a duplicate of bug 777277

@Jeremy, I know, but that was to do with Wayland, this doesn't work on Xorg as well.

Sorry, I think that the bug does cover this. I just thought they were separate since one was in Wayland and the other wasn't nor was it using the same distro or version as the other bug.
