GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 778833
After resume from suspend nm-applet does not show Wi-Fi access points
Last modified: 2020-11-12 14:34:59 UTC
I'm testing Xubuntu 17.04, with Network Manager 1.4.4. After the system resumes from suspend the nm-applet icon changes from a Wi-Fi connection icon to a wired connection icon. Furthermore — the available Wi-Fi access points are not shown when you click it. The connection to Wi-Fi, however, is not broken. I'm still connected to the web through Wi-Fi (the Computer is not connected to a wired connection). Running: killall nm-applet nm-applet fixes the problem. I think this is a dupe of bug 767317. Are you able to recompile the nm-applet package (or a git version) with the patch in: https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=767317#c23 and attach the console output after a resume from suspend?
Ubuntu 17.04 is indeed shipping with applet 1.4.2, which would have that bug http://packages.ubuntu.com/source/zesty/network-manager-applet
bugzilla.gnome.org is being shut down in favor of a GitLab instance. We are closing all old bug reports and feature requests in GNOME Bugzilla which have not seen updates for a long time. If you still use NetworkManager and if you still see this bug / want this feature in a recent and supported version of NetworkManager, then please feel free to report it at https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/NetworkManager/NetworkManager/-/issues/ Thank you for creating this report and we are sorry it could not be implemented (workforce and time is unfortunately limited).
