Description kz 2002-04-05 00:04:21 UTC
Package: gtk+
Severity: enhancement
Version: 2.0.1
Synopsis: GtkWrapBox for gtk itself, not gimp?
Bugzilla-Product: gtk+
Bugzilla-Component: gtk

Description:
I've just found gimp-1.3 against gtk2 uses native GtkWrapBox widget not
a part of gtk.
I wonder why gtk didn't import those into gtk itself?
in many case (at least, I) need flexible width container which support
wrapping children.
and I think GtkWrapBox is good method.
I remember gimp is mother of gtk. I think gtk can inherit more goods
from mother :)

This is an outstanding item from the now-gone TODO file. Owen points
out that they get a _lot_ more useful when you do have height-for-width
geometry management, though, and the lack of height-for-width is one
reason they weren't added for 2.0.

Look in beast and gimp for implementations of these.
Comment 2 Owen Taylor 2002-05-01 15:31:39 UTC
(Might be possible for 2.4 ... partly depends on whether
height-for-width happens for 2.4.)

Too Old,

I think I can close It.

You can reopen it if you find this feature will be intersting.

Please don't close GTK+ bugs.
