GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 763788
Enh: Replay last X actions on a different layer.
Last modified: 2018-05-24 16:15:13 UTC
This is an enhancement to Gimp which would be great for any artist: In the Undo tab/window, put in the ability to right-click at a certain action and select "Move from here To >>" with a submenu filled with layers. When selected, all actions that were performed from that selected action to now is undone, the layer switched, and then redone on that layer. Why this enhancement? You won't believe the frustration us artists go through when we have a "flat color" layer and a "shading" layer... and we shade on the flat color layer!!! We ether have to undo all the way out, or revert to an earlier file. Ether way, we just wasted time... and we start tearing our hair out having to redo the effort manually! Please! Save an artist's sanity (as much as we have left, we suffer for the art)!
Yes, we all want that, but it's a major task :) Thanks for taking the time to report this. This particular bug has already been reported into our bug tracking system, but please feel free to report any further bugs you find. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 51937 ***
I think the linked bug is not what this is asking for, but merely a way of doing it. Reopening and making bug 51937 a blocking dependency. Once the macro recorder is in, then this will be easy to implement.
