Using rhythmbox-3.3 compiled from source with gnome-3.16.x

Menu -> Tools has an arrow next to it, but does not display anything when clicked (this was also the case in earlier versions).

If I use rhtyhmbox outside of the gnome environment, clicking on tools produces a box with "tools" centered in it and nothing else.
