I'm running the latest Ubuntu.
As mentioned by someone else in bug 665773, it works out of the box with Firefox but not with Chrome/Chromium.

The no-detection page lists several troubleshooting steps, but does not mention browser choice or (maybe?) manual plugin installation.

I personally think it would be a good idea to add that information.
