GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 750887
ownCloud accounts not showing in apps (possible self-signed certificate related)
Last modified: 2015-09-15 12:59:09 UTC
EDS 3.16.3 Adding ownCloud accounts with self-signed certificates via GOA as usual. No addressbooks in gnome-contacts. No calendars in gnome-calendars. Files works as expected. Documents not tested. The workaround is to install the evolution client (which is unnecessary on previous releases of GNOME) and accepting the certificate. Thank you to Milan Crha for fixing Bug 749385 in order for the dialog to appear. On GNOME 3.14, everything works as expected, without the need for evolution client to be installed.
I have to mention that the certificate has to be accepted twice. Once under Calendars(CalDAV?) and then yet again under Contacts(CardDAV?).
Thanks for a bug report. It seems like an issue in gnome-contacts, respectively in gnome-calendar, not noticing the trust prompt requests properly. That would be my fault, due to overlooking something when I was giving them the changes needed for 3.16.0. In the 3.14 (evolution 3.12.x) times everything like this had been done centrally in evolution-source-registry, both trust prompts and password prompts, resulting in dialogs being shown out of nowhere. The e-d-s 3.16 changes this.
I made necessary changes in evolution data server ( commit 982e521d and commit 9dcfdfd for 3.17.3+ and their counterparts for 3.16.4+), together with one change in evolution itself, but there are also needed changes on the gnome-calendar (bug #751206) and gnome-contacts (bug #751207).
Huzzah! I would just like to report that this issue appears to be resolved in 3.16.4. Everything seems to be in working order on all machines. Thank you, kindly!
