GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 748666
Key Photo for events not showing
Last modified: 2017-10-31 20:52:00 UTC
I have imported my photo library onto a fresh install of Ubuntu 14.10 all is ok but I find if I select events in the left hand column I can only see grey boxes and the key photo for the event is not shown in the box for each event. Not a disaster but it's a bit annoying and disappointing.
Probably similar to bug 752286
Created attachment 350895 [details] Event key pictures missing shotwell log I am missing most but not all of the event key pictures. The are just shown as grey squares.
Created attachment 350967 [details] shotwell.log with debug informations
Created attachment 350999 [details] log with action make key photo for event In this log file I tried for two events to set the key photo Gerrit
Comment on attachment 350999 [details] log with action make key photo for event The missing here is the consequence of restoring a backup which did not contain the .cache/shotwell directory. On deleting .cache/shotwell the thumbs128 are regenerated, but the thumbs360 not.

Created attachment 360084 [details] [review] Fix missing event pictures The large thumbnails are not re-generated when accessing the event only; to work-around this, do not bail out but use the pixbuf and schedule the thumbnail generation in background for the next start-up.
