The image icon in GNOME icon-theme (that is shown when there is no preview) looks outdated and does not reflect GNOME 3 look & feel, would be good to replace/update it with a icon that does have a more modern look.

This is more of an application bug, than the icon theme bug. Apps should be using 'content-loading-symbolic' in GNOME3.
