GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 738396
Rotation lock icon is very confusing
Last modified: 2015-07-15 18:59:26 UTC
The rotation lock button uses a rotate icon, so a reasonable user would expect it to rotate the screen once when pressed.
This is a request for a better icon, I guess ?
I guess, if a better icon is even possible (I have no idea what it should look like). But there are so many questions about this button on Google+ that it's clear the current icon isn't working.
Created attachment 288910 [details] [review] rotation-locked: update metaphor
While the attached icon may or may not be clearer, it's worth noting the rotation arrow + lock is a metaphor that is used on the mobile platforms are will become widely known.
Resetting assignee to default to avoid cookie-licking (see bug 744024). Jimmac: If you actively and realistically plan to work on this, please set yourself as assignee again so this ticket will be shown on top of your user page at https://bugzilla.gnome.org/page.cgi?id=describeuser.html Thanks!
The metaphor has been updated in the meantime.
