GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 732282
Super+O shortcut is ignored
Last modified: 2014-07-15 15:22:23 UTC
When one bounds an action to Super+O shortcuts, this settings is ignored, because Super+O seems to be hardcoded to something like "disable rotation" (btw. this shortcut is not documented at "Keyboard navigation" page of GNOME help). I'd prefer to be able to reassign Super+O from "disable rotation" to my action, because I believe that "disable rotation" is useless for my desktop computer.
What are exact steps to reproduce the problem?
1) Run gnome-control-center 2) Select Keyboard 3) Select Shortcuts 4) Select arbitrary action and change the shortcut to Super+O 5) Press Super+O Expected behavior: The action bound to Super+O in step 4) should take place. Actual behavior: A picture with circular arrow (with or without lock) appears on screen for a while.
The same happens in Gnome 3.10.2 on Fedora. In Gnome 3.8 on Debian Super+O was normally usable.

That would be a separate bug against the help. > I'd prefer to be able to reassign Super+O from "disable rotation" to my action, > because I believe that "disable rotation" is useless for my desktop computer. Making hard-coded bindings optional isn't planned for now. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 670579 ***
