Description Michal 'hramrach' Suchanek 2013-12-25 22:49:58 UTC
Many video players use libass for ssa subtiles and can render them just fine.

Due to bug 721043 I have no idea what totem uses but it certainly does not work.

Or maybe it just fails to understand that when multiple subtitles are timed to be displayed together they should really be displayed together.

Are the ssa/ass subtitles built into a file (Matroska), or separate? If it's separate, it's a duplicate of bug 625113, if it's included in a file, please provide a test file to reproduce the problem with.
Comment 2 Michal 'hramrach' Suchanek 2014-01-07 13:36:13 UTC
The patches in comment 20 of bug 625113 are supposed to fix. There is apparently no support for rendering multiple subtitles at once which would be required to support complex ssa files properly.
Comment 3 Bastien Nocera 2014-01-07 14:21:09 UTC
I'll close this as a duplicate then.
