GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 71725
The Desktop and List View do not use the GTK2 font and are not settable
Last modified: 2004-12-22 21:47:04 UTC
The List View and Desktop do not use the default font for GTK+2. Adjusting the pref. for the list view font also has no effect. This is from a complete rebuild of GNOME 2 on Feb. 16th.

Regression. Darin: it is my understanding that you plan to rip out the entire font system and replace it, but I can't find a bug to that effect. Should this become the canonical bug for all 1.1.x font related problems until that occurs, and maybe retitled as 'font system for desktop needs to be replaced' or something similar?
Anders is working on this. The desktop is already fixed. Not sure about the list view.
Does bug #41041 cover this same issue???
Dave: I'd suggest that that bug is more of a 'respect all gtk settings'; maybe that one should depend on this one.
Luis: I agree with the dependency. This problem exist throughout nautilus. I filed another bug today about the background for the list and icon views respecting gtk settings as well (#74538).
Dave: I've added a dependency here; could you do that with any other bugs you file about it?

Removing myself from the cc... why did I care about this? Josh
I'm no longer entirely sure how major this is, but it is definitely something that should be fixed for 2.0.0 since desktop ugliness/prettiness is a huge part of the User Experience and all that :)
clearing out unnecessary cc:s, SPAM, please ignore.
Fixed in cvs.
