Description Eddy Castillo 2013-10-22 22:06:59 UTC
It would be nice if gnome-music could be able to search lyrics for current playing song. Or at least a button that open a web browser with "song - artist lyrics" to search.

I can imagine how this could be handy if you have forgotten the name of a song, but can remember part of the lyrics, for example. That said:

 * It's dependent on bug 724021 being fixed first.
 * We'd need to display the matching lyrics in the search results (this will need design).
 * We'd need to make sure that lyric searches don't create too many conflicting results.
 * I'd like to hear about how practical it is to fix this bug: are we able to search an online lyric database quickly enough, for example? Is there a database out there that we can use?

I think lyrics should be saved as tags. That would solve the database issue when all lyrics have been requested once (and that should be possible without problems, I guess. It's done with covers aswell so...). Also: offline usage.

There IS A tracker property for this -- nmm:lyrics. But how are folks suggesting we populate this? That we seach for lyrics whenever a song is added? Or something else?
