GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 709520
PackageKit gets confused about status
Last modified: 2014-09-01 15:02:44 UTC
Here is what I am seeing: 1) in the ui: remove an installed application 2) remove button gets replaced by install button 3) in a terminal: rpm -q 'that application' proves that the package is gone 4) in the ui: click the install button 5) gnome-software spews: (gnome-software:23192): Gs-WARNING **: failed to complete gs_plugin_app_install: The packages are already all installed 6) after a restart, gnome-software is willing to install the app again

still not working right. what I see right now: 1) click install on the details page 2) app gets installed 3) install button disappears, remove button does *not* appear 4) revisit the details page, remove button is there now 5) clicking it appears to do the removal, but the state of gnome-software does not reflect that
Upping severity because gnome-software 3.10.4 crashes every time I attempt to reproduce this. Uninstalling and then reinstalling: (gnome-software:20743): Gs-WARNING **: failed to complete gs_plugin_app_install: The packages are already all installed (gnome-software:20743): Gdk-WARNING **: gnome-software: Fatal IO error 11 (Resource temporarily unavailable) on X server :0. Installing and then uninstalling: (gnome-software:11267): Gs-WARNING **: failed to complete gs_plugin_app_remove: The package d-feet is not installed (gnome-software:11267): Gdk-WARNING **: gnome-software: Fatal IO error 11 (Resource temporarily unavailable) on X server :0.
The initial bug seems to be still valid with Software 3.13.4 on Fedora 21, but I don't see a crash. I get an error "Sorry, this did not work. Installation of Calculator failed."
