GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 70717
Guppi shows numbers instead of dates for labels (gnumeric)
Last modified: 2011-09-30 19:23:35 UTC
Packages: rpm -qa | grep Guppi Guppi-0.40.3-ximian.1 [damon@nixbox spinners]# rpm -qa | grep gnumeric gnumeric-1.0.4-0.ximian.1 In gnumeric, create a column and type Jan-02 Feb-02 And then format these cells as "mmm-yy" Create another column with values like 1 2 Now create a graph (bar or line doesn't matter) and choose the dates for the category labels and then draw the graph. Instead of seeing the dates in the graph I see "37300 37350" I think this is a guppi bug since gnumeric knows these values are dates but this may be an incorrect assumption on my part.
This is a bug in gnumeric. I was only recognizing the standard date formats as being dates. As a result guppi was not being notified that this was a date. It will be fixed as part of the format engine rewrite.

Unrelated to the new report which is an entirely different code base. Won't be fixed because guppi is unmaintained, and is no longer used.
