- Open GIMP version 2.8.4
- Open image "450x338 pixels, JPG"
- Scale the image to "345x265 pixels".
- Click on Filters > Enhance > Unsharp Mask.
- Enter "500.0" next to radius

I could reproduce it with GIMP 2.8.4 on Linux. After confirming the dialog GIMP freezes. 
However, GIMP 2.8.6 on Windows and OSX behaves properly.
Hanadi, can you please confirm within the next 5 weeks whether the bug still occurs in GIMP 2.8.6 for you? Thank you in advance.

This particular bug has already been reported into our bug tracking system, but we are happy to tell you that the problem has already been fixed. It should be solved in the next software version. You may want to check for a software upgrade.
