Description Bruce Fraser 2012-12-14 22:26:32 UTC
Dia version 0.97.2-2
Windows XP, SP3 and all patches

I run the setup program, and come to the point where I can change the destination folder where the installation will happen. If I click "Browse", the install program hangs.
That is, it stops doing anything, and doesn't respond to any input. It doesn't crash the rest of the operating system.
Comment 1 Bruce Fraser 2012-12-14 22:28:16 UTC
I should add: if I leave the destination folder alone, it installs normally and works perfectly.
Comment 2 Bart.S 2015-01-21 16:02:34 UTC
I can reproduce using dia-setup-0.97.2-1.exe on Win XP SP3.

If I click "Browse" and use the file/destination chooser the program will hang.

If I enter a destination folder without that "Browse" dialog, Dia will install to that custom folder.

This bug might be related to the loop at the beginning of the 'VerifyDir'-function in installer script: Dia.nsi

I'll try if other NSIS-installers have the same bug with the file/destination chooser or if it's Dia only.
Comment 3 Bart.S 2015-01-22 10:03:10 UTC
The bug seems to be Dia only.
I'll add a new patch to bug #743191 which might help here too.
