GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 690228
Changing the installation folder hangs the installer.
Last modified: 2019-03-20 11:56:00 UTC
Dia version 0.97.2-2 Windows XP, SP3 and all patches I run the setup program, and come to the point where I can change the destination folder where the installation will happen. If I click "Browse", the install program hangs. That is, it stops doing anything, and doesn't respond to any input. It doesn't crash the rest of the operating system.
I should add: if I leave the destination folder alone, it installs normally and works perfectly.
I can reproduce using dia-setup-0.97.2-1.exe on Win XP SP3. If I click "Browse" and use the file/destination chooser the program will hang. If I enter a destination folder without that "Browse" dialog, Dia will install to that custom folder. This bug might be related to the loop at the beginning of the 'VerifyDir'-function in installer script: Dia.nsi I'll try if other NSIS-installers have the same bug with the file/destination chooser or if it's Dia only.
The bug seems to be Dia only. I'll add a new patch to bug #743191 which might help here too.
