gnome-control-center printers finds networked printer via avahi. Attempt to install printer gives error "Faild to add new printer." When executing gnome-control-center printers from terminal and attempting same error in terminal is as follows:

(gnome-control-center:2016): printers-cc-panel-WARNING **: "DCP-7065DN" is not a valid printer name.

Hi Jeffrey,

this is a bug in cups-pk-helper. Specifically, it is this bug: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=56032.
I will file a bug for gnome-control-center which will change the error message so it is clear from which component the problem comes.

I'm closing this with resolution notgnome.
